A list of school districts where homeschoolers have been experiencing problems.

Arlington Independent School District
8/20/2001 Arlington ISD
THSC Update. "...have mailed a letter to home school families who have previously given AISD a letter of assurance that they are teaching their children at home using a curriculum that covers the basic educational goals of reading, spelling, grammar, math, and a course in good citizenship. In your letter, you ask these families to contact your office or send a letter to notify you of their intent to continue to teach their children at home."
 
Aubrey Independent School District

Garland Independent School District

Required "assurance document must be furnished to either the chief attendance officer of the school district or the appropriate campus official having jurisdiction regarding the child's attendance. I recognize failure to provide assurance of the pursuit of a home school curriculum may result in the District's taking legal action to enforce the compulsory attendance law."

Mother withdrawing her 1st grader wrote " I notified the principal that I was removing my child from school, They are insisting that we sign all of these different forms. My child has not even been out of school a week yet,and they are taking us to court."
