Posters
When we lived in Amarillo, we spent a lot of time at the
Harrington Discovery Center, a hands-on science center. While they had all
of the usual water, blocks, and other "learning stations" you
would expect, they didn't limit learning to the exhibit floor. Make
a trip to the restroom and you can learn all kinds of things about human
anatomy from the posters placed on the walls in the stalls.
A homeschooling friend of mine also uses this
approach. She hangs weather posters and such on her bathroom
door. She attached heavy paperclips to the posters, ties a string to
them, and then hangs them from a hook. This avoids holes in the door as
well as allowing her to easily change her "exhibits." For
visual learners, it's a great way to sneak in some learning when least
expected.
