The Texas Cooperative Wildlife Collection (TCWC), established in 1937, is the largest collection in Texas of vertebrates of the western hemisphere. The collection contains about 500,000 specimens used for research and teaching in systematics, biodiversity, conservation, and related fields. Specimens and accompanying data are also used for teaching courses in the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and other departments of the University.
