| Begun in 1986, the museum is an extension of the formal classroom and laboratory training involving participation of students taking geology courses. It is also used for undergraduate research as well as by students from universities and schools in San Antonio, local groups including scouts, and societies including the Southwest Gem & Mineral Society and South Texas Geological Society. |
