Students of all ages can visit Artpace anytime-admission is free. Educators may schedule guided tours of Artpace's exhibitions or facility, Monday through Friday. Tours are free of charge and normally last one hour or less.
The Tuesday Tours program offers group tours in combination with creative projects each Tuesday from 10am-12pm for pre-kindergarten through university classes. Tuesday Tours are free with all materials included. Bussing funds are available, as are customized tours and alternate days.
Students are always invited to explore Artpace on their own, or an educator may register students in ArtElements, Artpace's organized programs for K-12 students which integrates themes and processes of the contemporary art featured in Artpace's exhibitions. Students look at contemporary artwork, learn vocabulary and concepts, create a project in response, and reflect upon what they have learned. Programs foster interdisciplinary connections, using an inquiry-based approach that encourages students to engage with art as a primary source for learning. ArtElements programs entail multiple interactions with contemporary art, are grade-specific, and are keyed to national and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards for fine arts. |
