| On line and in person music lessons. My name is John Axsom. I teach piano, guitar,
and woodwinds in San Antonio. I offer private
and group lessons.
I have a 4 year degree in nursing from Baylor University.
I also have another 4 year degree from Angelo State University with a major in English and a minor in music. I retired from the U.S. Army Nurse Corps as a major in 1989. Since then I have been teaching music privately and teaching public computer courses at Palo Alto College, and SAC. As a retired Registered Nurse I keep my interest alive in health issues by teaching First Aid and CPR through the American Heart Association. I will gladly give free CPR or First Aid classes to groups of homeschooling families. My music classes are $15 per half hour for private lessons. Group lessons are negotiable.
I teach my students how to read music, and music theory,
but I go beyond that, I also teach students to play without sheet music. This can be done by learning chord patterns, bass runs, passing tones, color tones, and other piano tricks.
