Sing! Move to Music! Write songs! Make instruments! Play piano! Play guitar! Play recorder! Play percussion instruments! Dramatize songs! Play in an ensemble! Perform concerts!
Would your child enjoy interacting with other children in structured musical activities? Does your child seem interested in music, yet not ready to focus on just one instrument as we do in private lessons? These classes can nurture our youngest musicians. They are designed to prime your child for future music learning by providing an intriguing variety of experiences.
Classes will run from the beginning of September through the end of May with holiday breaks following the public school calendar. Classes meet once a week, and two class times are available: Tuesdays 1:00-2:00 and Thursdays 3:00-4:00. More classes may be added later. Fees are $40 per month, with a $5 fee each semester for instrument making supplies. (Most months will have four or five classes a month, with December having only three.) In addition to regular, spontaneous demonstrations at the end of class periods of what we are learning there will be two official concerts--one before December holidays, and one at the end of spring semester. Students will also be invited to perform at the recital of my private students, Thursday evening, November 21, 7:00, at Alamo Music downtown.
Classes will be small and will be taught in my home near the intersection of I10 and New Braunfels St. (also near 281 and Fair Ave.) Call me to discuss your child's registration.
Private piano and guitar lessons for children and adults are also available.
